Description of key information

The 96-h LC50 value of AC-6000 in the freshwater fish Oryzias latipes is > 10 mg/L; this value will be used in the assessment.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

A GLP-compliant OECD 203 guideline study with Japanese killifish (Oryzias latipes) is available for AC-6000 (Kurume Laboratory, 2006b). Fish (10/dose) were exposed to nominal concentrations of 10 mg/L under semi-static conditions for 96 hours; the test concentrations were not analytically verified. No information is available with regard to mortality in the controls and the test concentration, the 96-h LC50 value is >10 mg/L.

Another study, which was conducted as a limit test in order to estimate the effect of the test item on the test organism at around the solubility of the test item in dilution water, with freshwater fish is available. The 96-h LC50 value is >0.145 mg/L, this effect concentration is larger than the water solubility.
