Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic compartment to the substance is unlikely

Description of key information

The performance of a test for bioaccumulation in aquatic species, preferably fish, is scientifically unjustified. REACH Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex IX, Sect. 9.3.2, Col. 2, states as follows: “9.3.2 The study need not be conducted if: - the substance has a low potential for bioaccumulation (for instance a log Kow <= 3) and/or a low potential to cross biological membranes, or - direct and indirect exposure of the aquatic environment is unlikely. ”  Direct and indirect exposure of the test item to aquatic environment is unlikely. Due to the rapid hydrolysis it can be assumed that upon contact with water, the test item undergoes rapid degradation within minutes resulting in the formation of respective degradation products. In addition, the test substance has log Pow of 2.92 (calculated using EPIWIN, KOWWIN v1.68) showing together with hydrolysis data, that the substance will not be available in the environment for long times. Therefore, the test substance was considered to have no bioaccumulation potential.
