Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The threshold levels of lethal and other observed effects for Gobiocypris rarus exposed to ROBAC AS100 for 14 days were higher than the
concentration (the measured concentration was less than LOD (LOD=1.12 ng/ml)) of the saturated solution under tested conditions.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Introduction:

According to “OECD Guidelines for the Testing of Chemicals. 204 Fish, Prolonged Toxicity Test: 14-day Study 1984”, the prolonged toxicity of the test substance ROBAC AS100 to Gobiocypris rarus was determined by a semi-static test.

Method:

A nominal concentration of 100 mg/L of the test substance was prepared and stirred for 72h followed with filtration by using a 0.45μm nitrocellulose membrane to make the saturated solution of test system as the test solution (hereinafter referred to as the saturated solution in this test, which measured concentration was <LOD (LOD=1.12 ng/ml). Based on the information provided by the sponsor and the results of fish acute toxicity test, a treatment group of the saturated solution and a control group were included in the test. Both treatment group and control group had 2 replicates and the test duration was 14 days. The frequency of the renewal was three times per week.

Results:

There were no mortalities and abnormalities observed in treatment group and control group during the test period. At the end of the test, the dissolved oxygen concentration was greater than 60.0% of the air saturation value throughout the test. Hence, the test was considered to be valid.

During the test, the measured concentrations of test substance were below LOD (LOD=1.12 ng/ml). The threshold levels of lethal and other observed effects for Gobiocypris rarus exposed to the test substance for 14 days were higher than the concentration of the saturated solution (the measured concentration was less than LOD (LOD=1.12 ng/ml)) under tested conditions.
