Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
The partition coefficient (Pow) of DC 5067 was estimated to be 1.4 x l0exp3 (log Pow=3. 1) and 4.0 x l0exp6 (log Pow < 6.6).
Executive summary:

DC 5067 appeared to be a surface active substance (see RCC NOTOX report 048678) "Determination of the surface tension of DC 5067". The HPLC method as well as the flask-shaking method (see OECD guideline no. 107 and EEC directive L251) for the determination of the partition coefficient applies only to pure substances which are not surface active, therefore the main study was not performed. During the preliminary test, the partition coefficient (Pow) of DC 5067 was estimated to be between 1.4 x l03 (log Pow=3.1) and 4.0 x l06 (log Pow 6.6), as a quotient of the maximum solubility of the test substance in n-octanol and water.
