There are no data describing the long-term toxicity of the registered substance to terrestrial arthropods.

However, an OECD TG 222 earthworm reproduction study, an OECD TG 208 toxicity to plants study and an OECD TG 216 soil microorganism study have been conducted with the registered substance.

Analytical recoveries during the earthworm study and plant study were close to nominal concentrations, therefore the test organisms in all tests are expected to have been exposed to significant concentrations of test substance.

Effects on earthworms were reported and PNECsoil has been derived from the results of the earthworm reproduction test.

 

The earthworm is the standard organism for soil macroorganisms and there is no indication that arthropods would be any more susceptible, therefore the data generated from the earthworm reproduction test, terrestrial plant test and soil microorganism test are considered to be suitable to derive hazard and risk assessment under REACH for Reaction Mass of 3,3-diphenylhexamethyltrisiloxane and 3,3,5,5-tetraphenylhexamethyltetrasiloxane (CAS 352230-22-9; EC No. 451-620-7) and the requirement for further tests with terrestrial arthropods is waived.
