Additional information

The determination of the melting point of 2-[(2-nitrophenyl)amino]ethanol was performed by visual judgement using the capillary method following EU Method A.1 (Melting / Freezing Temperature), the OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point/Melting Range) and the GLP.

In the preliminary test the test item starts melting at 75 °C.

The test item showed all five stages of melting. The melting started at 73.4 °C (stage A). At 74.5 °C the last stage E of melting was reached. At the end of the test the test item was liquid and dark red.

The test item 2-[(2-nitrophenyl)amino]ethanol melted in the range of 73.4 °C to 74.5°C (346.5 K to 347.7 K).

This melting point test is classified as acceptable, and satisfies the guideline requirements for the OECD 102 and EU Method A1.
