Endpoint:
explosive properties of explosives
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because there are no chemical groups present in the molecule which are associated with explosive properties

Description of key information

The test item does not contain any functional groups which may indicate explosive properties. Therefore, it can be concluded by expert judgement that this substance is not explosive (reference 4.14 -1).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Explosiveness:
non explosive

Additional information

According to column 2 of REACH Annex VII, a study on explosiveness (as required in point 7.11) does not need to be conducted if the substance contains no chemical groups which can be associated with explosiveness. The test item does not contain chemical groups directly concerned or able to contribute to explosive properties.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Classification, Labelling, and Packaging Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008

Based on the chemical structure and taking into account the provisions laid down in Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008, as amended for the fourteenth time in Regulation (EU) 2020/217, the substance is not considered to be classified for explosiveness.
