First-aid measures

Inhalation- not applicable

Skin - Wash affected areas thoroughly with mild soap and water.  Get medical attention if irritation persists.

Ingestion- If ingestion of a large amount does occur, seek medical attention.

Eyes- Immediately flush with large amounts of clean, warm water (low pressure) for at least 15 minutes.  If irritation persists get medical attention.  

Fire-fighting measures

The ink containing this substance has a flashpoint > 93 degrees C and is not flammable.  

Dry chemical, CO2, water spray or regular foam are all suitable extinguishing media.

Accidental release measures

Used mostly in consumer printers.  Closed systems.  In the event of a spill, care should be taken to avoid exposure to the skin and eyes. Soak up spill with inert absorbent material. Dispose of in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.  Do not let product enter drains, and do not flush into surface water or sanitary sewer system.

Handling and storage

Store away from excessive heat or cold.

The ink containing this substance is found within sealed plastic inkjet cartridges, wrapped within a foil pouch and placed within a cardboard 1-up.

The ink containing this substance is not regulated as dangerous goods.
Follow all national regulations. Confirm containers have no rent or leak before loading. Protect containers against fall, drop an dphysical damage.

Stability and reactivity

The ink is stable under recommended storage conditions, but is incompatible with strong bases and oxidizing agents.

Disposal considerations

Local regulations should be adhered to.

Spent cartridges and paper products impregnated with ink containing the notified chemical should be disposed of or recycled as office or domestic waste according to local regulations.  Spent cartridges may be recycled via HP’s Planet Partners Program, or disposed of by incineration, or to landfill.  Paper products impregnated with ink containing the notified chemical may be disposed of by landfill, incinerated, or recycled.
