The preliminary measurement in a closed glass pan shows an endothermic effect (melting) in the range 110 -155 °C, with an onset of 136.6 °C.

In aluminium pans, the diagrams show the endothermal effect (melting) in the range between 110 and 150 °C, with a medium onset of 135.5 °C and a second endothermal effect (boiling) is in the range between 265 and 345 °C, directly followed by an exothermal effect beginning at about 345 °C.

Conclusions:
The test item has a mean melting point of 135.5 °C.
Executive summary:

The determination of the melting point was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to EG-Guideline 92/69/EEC A.1. The test substance shows a melting point in the temperature range 110-150 °C with an onset of 135.5 °C.

Description of key information

The determination of the melting point was carried out by differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) according to EG-Guideline 92/69/EEC A.1. The test substance shows a melting point in the temperature range 110-150 °C with an onset of 135.5 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
135.5 °C

Additional information

No atm. pressure is mentioned in the report, but 1013 hPa as standard conditions can be assumed. This does not affect the chemical safety assessment.
