Description of key information

2-ethyl-4-(2,2,3-trimethyl-3-cyclopenten-1-yl)-(2E)-buten-1-ol is not readily biodegradable according to the criteria of OECD 301 D guideline.

The test item was only biodegraded by 5 % at day 29.

Additional information

Ultimate biodegradation of 2-ethyl-4-(2,2,3-trimethyl-3-cyclopenten-1-yl)-(2E)-buten-1-ol was shown in activated sludge with 50% of CO2 production after 14.4 hours.

Complete degradation of 2-ethyl-4-(2,2,3-trimethyl-3-cyclopenten-1-yl)-(2E)-buten-1-ol has also been shown in both biotic and abiotic treatment of a treated effluent river-surface water mixing zone within 21 days.

Ultimately biodegradation of 2-ethyl-4-(2,2,3-trimethyl-3-cyclopenten-1-yl)-(2E)-buten-1-ol was shown with 50% of CO2 production after 641 hours.
