Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A low potential for secondary poisoning is expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to chapter R.7c “Endpoint specific guidance” of the “Guidance on information requirements and chemical safety assessment” published by ECHA (2012) testing for avian toxicity may not be required if a risk for secondary poisoning is negligible (e.g. if the substance is readily biodegradable, has a low potential for bioaccumulation and moreover there is no evidence of toxicity in mammalian repeat dose or reproduction tests). Regarding the results from mammalian studies only low toxicityto rats (repeated dose oral, NOAEL (28 d) = 1450 mg/kg bw/d) was found. In addition no adverse effects were observed in the aquatic tests up to the water solubility limit. Furthermore, the test substance is readily biodegradable and the potential for bioaccumulation is assumed to be low (see expert statement on bioaccumulation in IUCLID Section 5.3). Thus, the substance has a negligible risk for secondary poisoning and there is no need to investigate further the effects on birds.
