Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
vapour pressure
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
23 January - 22 April, 2015
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
other: The study was conducted according to an internationally recognised method, and under GLP. No deviation was reported. Test substance is adequately specified with isomer purity. Therefore full validation applies.
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 104 (Vapour Pressure Curve)
Deviations:
no
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
EU Method A.4 (Vapour Pressure)
Deviations:
no
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Not applicable
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Remarks:
UK GLP compliance programme (inspected on 05 February 2014 / signed on 07 October 2015)
Type of method:
effusion method: vapour pressure balance
Key result
Temp.:
25 °C
Vapour pressure:
0.07 Pa
Remarks on result:
other: interpolated

Run 1

Correlation (r): -0.9976

Slope: -3852

Intercept: 11.85

VP (Pa) at 25 °C: 0.086

Run 2

Correlation (r): -0.9953

Slope: -4077

Intercept: 12.43

VP (Pa) at 25 °C: 0.057

The runs yielded a mean vapour pressure value at 25 ºC of 0.071 Pa.

Conclusions:
Low volatility (based on volatility bands criteria for occupational exposure (Chesar / ECETOC TRA), < 500 Pa).
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of the test substance was measured under GLP according to OECD 104 / EU A4 guideline by an effusion method using a vapour pressure balance. Two definitive runs were performed between temperatures of 21 and 60 °C. Vapour pressure at 25 °C was interpolated from the regressions.

The runs yielded a mean vapour pressure value at 25 ºC of 0.071 Pa.

The vapour pressure of the test item has been determined to be 0.07 Pa at 25 °C.

Description of key information

Low volatility.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.07 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

A fully reliable experimental study, conducted according to a recognized OECD/EU method, is available. It is considered as a key study. The result is retained as key data.
