Additional information

The acute toxicity of the test item to fish (zebrafish) was determined according to the principles of the OECD-Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203 (1992) and EU Council Regulation No. 440/2008/ C.1 (2008).

A static test with one application at test start was conducted with the saturated solution and further four dilution levels out of the saturated solution in a geometrical series with a dilution factor of 2: 6.25 - 12.5 - 25.0 - 50.0 - 100 % of the saturated solution. The loading rates correspond to nominal test item concentrations of: 0.3125 - 0.625 - 1.25 - 2.50 – 5.00 mg/L. Duration of the test was 96 hours. 7 test organisms were exposed to the loading rates and the control. Water quality parameters temperature, pH-value and oxygen-saturation measured at 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 hours were within the acceptable limits. The LC50after 96 hours was > 5.00 mg/L (nominal).

The concentrations of the test item in the saturated solution and in the control were analytically verified via HPLC-UV at the start and end of the exposure (0 and 96 hours). The measured concentrations of the test item at the start of exposure (0 hours) were in the range between 0.691 mg/L for the saturated solution and below the LOQ of 0.158 mg/L of the test item in the lowest concentration. At the test end (96 hours), values ranged between < LOQ for the three lowest concentrations and 0.326 mg/L for the saturated solution. There was no test item found in the control samples either at the start or the end of the exposure period. All effect values were based on the geometric mean measured concentrations of the test item. The results are summarized in the following table:
