Conclusion on classification

In the CLP regulation the identification of acute (short-term) and long-term hazards is based on the aquatic toxicity of the substance, although this shall be modified by taking account of further information on the degradation and bioaccumulation behaviour, if appropriate.

The substance does not meet the criteria for classification under the CLP regulations for short-term hazardous to the environment based on acute fish, daphnia and algal studies, which gave EC/LC50 values of 6.3 mg/L in fish, 1.4 mg/L in Daphnia and 2.5 mg/L in algae.

The substance does meet the criteria for Category chronic 2. The EC/LC50 values for fish, Daphnia and algae are within the range > 1 to ≤ 10 mg/L, and although the substance is readily biodegradable the Log Pow is ≥ 4 (Log Pow = 4.082).
