First-aid measures
4.1 Description of first aid measures
Inhalation: Move the exposed person to fresh air at once.
Ingestion: Immediately rinse mouth and drink water. Keep person under observation. Do not induce vomiting.
Skin contact: Wash with plenty of water, remove contaminated clothing immediately. If irritation persists, or if there is any small lesion, consult a doctor.
Eye contact: Immediately flush with plenty of water for up to 15 minutes. Remove any contact lenses and rinse under eyelids.
4.2 Most important symptoms and effects, both acute and delayed
May be fatal if swallowed and enters airways.
Causes skin irritation.
May cause an allergic skin reaction.
Causes serious eye irritation.
4.3 Indication of any immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Get medical attention if any discomfort is felt, and bring these instructions.
Fire-fighting measures
5.1 Extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media: Foam, dry powder.
Unsuitable extinguishing media: Water jet or fog (spray).
5.2 Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture
Nature of decomposition of the product is not known. Vapours may form an explosive mixture with air.
5.3 Advice for firefighters
Container may explode in the heat of a fire. Cool endangered drums with water.
Move undamaged containers from immediate hazard area if it can be done safely.
Use full face, self-contained breathing apparatus and appropriate protective clothing.
Accidental release measures
6.1 Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing, eye protection and face protection. Do not inhale explosion and combustion gasses. Eliminate all ignition sources. Ventilate area.
6.2 Environmental precautions
Avoid contamination of drains, sewers and surface waters. Do not discharge on the ground.
6.3 Methods and material for containment and cleaning up
Stop leaks and contain spillage by any means available. Absorb liquid in sand or earth or any other inert material. If substance has entered a water course or sewer, inform the responsible authority.
Small spills: wipe up with paper rags and place contaminated items in closed metal waste containers.
Big spills: use non-flammable absorbents.
6.4 Reference to other sections
See section 8 and 13.
Handling and storage
7.1 Precautions for safe handling
Keep away from sources of heat and ignition.
Work in a well-ventilated area.
Avoid spills.
Keep away from drains.
Do not eat, drink and smoke in work areas.
Wash hands after any contact, before breaks and meals and at the end of the work period.
Remove any contaminated clothing and protective equipment before entering eating areas.
7.2 Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities
Store in a cool, dry and dark place in tightly sealed, suitable containers.
7.3 Specific end use(s)
None in particular.
