Description of key information

1,1 dichloroethene is stable in the water, i.e. hydrolysis is negligible.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The result was obtained from as a well documented publication but significantly different from Standard Guideline recommendations. The half life calculated of 1,1 -dichloroethene is reported to be 1.2x10^8 years at 25 °C and pH 7. Thus 1,1 dichloroethene is stable in the water, i.e. hydrolysis is negligible.
