Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Acute tests on fish, daphnia, activated sludge and algae were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of the test substance. The L(E)C 50 values for the four of them were found to be greater than 100 mg/L (nominal concentration). Thus, the test substance is considered not to be acutely toxic for aquatic organisms. Additionally, the inhibition of the degradation activity of activated sludge is not anticipated when introduced to biological treatment plants in appropriate low concentrations.

Chronic tests on fish and daphnia were performed to examine the aquatic toxicity of the test substance.   The NOEC values for both of these studies were found to be greater than 0.1 mg/L (nominal concentration):

NOEC for long-term toxicity to fish = 0.031 mg/L

NOEC for long-term toxicity to daphnia = 0.064 mg/L

Thus, the test substance is considered to be chronic acutely toxic for aquatic organisms.

Additional information

The studies were conducted to recognised testing guidelines with GLP.
