Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-78 °C

Additional information

Melting point values of -77.8°C are reported in collections of reliable data which have been subject to peer review and in which the original data sources are traceable. The result is considered to be reliable. The results given in several other secondary sources, to which reliability could not be assigned, are in the range -75.8 to -90°C. The key study is a value from the Project 801® Database, data included in the Project 801® Database are compiled and evaluated by the Design Institute for Physical Property Data (DIPPR) of the American Institute of Chemical engineers. As such, the value specified in the DIPPR 801® Database represents the best available melting point value for Trichloromethylsilane.
