Description of key information

Based on physico-chemical properties and the fugacity level III modelling, environmental releases will result in the partitioning of glycolic acid into water and soil. If released to surface water, it is not expected to adsorb to suspended solids and sediment based upon its low Koc and pKa and will therefore remain predominantly in the water phase. In soil, this substance is expected to be mobile, however, rapid biodegradation is expected to mitigate potential transport to groundwater.
