Additional information

Based on its intrinsic properties (low Log Kow, high water solubility) 2,2'-dimethyl-2,2'-azodipropiononitrile is not expected to sorb on soil or sediment particles. This is confirmed by the low Koc value obtained by a validated QSAR method (log Koc = 1.39). When released in the environment, the potential environmental distribution of 2,2’-azobis(2 -methylpropionitrile) obtained from a generic Mackay level III fugacity model indicates that it is unlikely to be distributed into other compartment than water or soil. If 2,2’-azobis(2 -methylpropionitrile) is released into air or soil, it is likely to be distributed in water and soil.
