Experimental testing of the toxicity of bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate to soil organisms is not considered to be required for the following reasons:

According to column 2 of Annex IX, section 9.4, testing of short term toxicity on terrestrial organisms does not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Any uses of the substance involving direct emissions to soil are not foreseen. Bis(4-tert-butylcyclohexyl) peroxydicarbonate can be expected to be efficiently removed from wastewater due to its high adsorption potential (see IUCLID section 5.4). Since incineration of sewage sludge from exposed STPs is prescribed, exposure of the soil compartment via this pathway can be ruled out.
