Description of key information

Studies performed on toxicity to fish of pentaerythritol tetranitrate at different concentrations show that the effects caused to fish are not associated to the substance, but to the pH of the solution, which is much higher than environmental.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

LC50 for freshwater fish:
926 mg/L

Additional information

LD50 values obtained from studies performed on toxicity to fish of pentaerythritol tetranitrate at different concentrations show that the substance is not toxic for fish and mortality is associated to high pH.
