Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The test material was not readily biodegradable when tested in a Guideline ready biodegradability test. It underwent 24.7% degradation (as CO2) in 28 days suggesting it is inherently biodegradable but not readily biodegradable.

The test material is a high molecular weight material with extremely low water solubility. It has an estimated Log Koc of 5.63 (calculated) and an estimated Log Kow of 15.28 (calculated). Compounds with such high Log Kow values are generally considered of low concern for bioaccumulation due to the inability of such materials to pass across cell membranes and to be absorbed by organisms exposed.

The test substance was not toxic to freshwater fish or invertebrates in short-term studies. The NOEC values in both cases were > 100 mg/L. In a 72-h algal toxicity study, the test substance had an NOEC of 100 mg/L (nominal). It is not classified as a carcinogen, mutagen or reproductive hazard. There is no other relevant chronic toxicity information.

Likely routes of exposure:

The most likely route of worker exposure is dermal. Minimal incidental oral exposure is also possible but this is not expected to contribute significantly to exposure.
