Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

After inhalation:

In the event of symptoms take medical treatment. Ensure supply of fresh air.

On skin contact:

Wash off thoroughly with ample water. Remove contaminated clothing.

After ingestion:

Induce vomiting if patient is conscious, seek medical advice. If swallowed give water to drink.

On contact with eyes:

Immediately wash affected eyes for at least 15 minutes under running water with eyelids held open, consult an eye specialist.

Fire-fighting measures

Special protective equipment:

Wear self-contained breathing apparatus and chemical-protective clothing.

Further information:

Product itself is non-combustible; fire extinguishing method of surrounding areas must be considered. Large quantities of extinguishing water containing dissolved product should be contained.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Avoid dust formation. Ensure adequate ventilation.

Environmental precautions:

Do not empty into drains.

Methods for cleaning up or taking up:

For large amounts: Pick up in dry form. Pack in tightly closed containers for disposal.

Handling and storage

Storage

Exposure controls / personal protection

Personal protective equipment

Respiratory protection:

Breathing protection if dusts are formed. Particle filter with medium efficiency for solid and liquid particles (e.g. EN 143 or 149, Type P2 or FFP2)

Hand protection:

Manufacturer's directions for use should be observed because of great diversity of types.

Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (Recommended:  Protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time  according to EN 374):

nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness

Supplementary note: The specifications are based on own tests, literature data and information of glove manufacturers or are derived from similar substances by analogy. Due to many conditions (e.g. temperature) it must be considered, that the practical usage of a chemical-protective glove in practice may be much shorter than the determined permeation time.

Eye protection:

Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (f.e. EN 166)

General safety and hygiene measures:

Remove contaminated clothing immediately and dispose of safely.

Stability and reactivity

Substances to avoid:

acids

Hazardous reactions:

Risk of carbon dioxide formation under the influence of acids.

Disposal considerations

Dispose of in accordance with local authority regulations.

Contaminated packaging:

Uncleaned empties should be disposed of in the same manner as the contents.
