Description of key information

The acute toxicity of the test item 2,3-Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with toluene-4-sulfonic acid to fish (zebrafish) was determined according to OECD-Guideline for Testing of Chemicals No. 203 (1992).
A semi-static test with daily renewal of the test media was performed with the water accommodated fractions (WAF) of nominal 6.25 - 12.5 - 25.0 - 50.0 - 100 mg/L. All terms related to concentration levels will be given as loading levels. Duration of the test was 96 hours. 7 test organisms were exposed to each loading level and the control. Water quality parameters pH-value, temperature and oxygen-saturation, measured after 0, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h, were determined to be within the acceptable limits.
The TOC content (according to DIN EN 1484) of the test media in various loading levels and the control was determined from freshly prepared test media after 24 and 72 hours of exposure. TOC analysis from corresponding 24 hours aged test media was not applicable due to the excrements of the fish. All effect levels are given based on the nominal loading levels of the test item 2,3-Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with toluene-4-sulfonic acid.

Additional information

All effect levels are given based on the nominal loading levels of the test item 2,3-Epoxypropyl neodecanoate, oligomeric reaction products with toluene-4-sulfonic acid. The  LL50 after 96 h was determined to be > 100 mg/L (highest loading level).
