Description of key information

The determination of the auto-ignition temperature of 400160 has been performed according to EU method A.15 in a GLP certified testing facility.
The auto-ignition temperature is stated as 375 °C at atmospheric pressure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
375 °C

Additional information

For the determination an apparatus according to DIN 51749 was used. A pre-test was performed to determine the start temperature of the main test. In the first experiment of the main test, the highest temperature where no ignition was observed was determined. A temperature range using this temperature plus 5 K was used for the two following tests. The following auto-ignition temperature determinations were repeated in a clean test vessel.

The auto-ignition temperature is the lowest value out of the three experiments, rounded down to a whole multiple of 5 °C. Therefore, the auto-ignition temperature for 400160 is stated as 375 °C at atmospheric pressure.
