Description of key information

- 1,5 -Naphthylene diisocyanate ist not readily biodegradable. After 28 days 0 % of the test substance had been degraded in a Manometric Respirometry Test which is in accordance with Directive 92/69/EEC, Part C.4 -D and which is equivalent/similar to OECD 301F (Bayer Industry Services 2006).
- In a test, performed according to the OECD Guideline 301 C (Ready Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test (I)) , the hydrolysis product 1,5-naphthylene diamine showed 0% degradation after 28 days (Bayer AG, 1990). Therefore, 1,5-naphthylene diamine is considered to be "Not Readily Biodegradable".
