Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The substance was in the range of water solubility not toxic under test conditions. The EC50 of 1,2-Benzenedicarboxylic acid, di-C6-10-alkyl esters was in excess of 2.8 mg/L. Additional information from a publication (Adams et al., 1995) support these findings. Also the toxicity of structurally related phthalates has been evaluated in several algae tests according to accepted guidelines.

The EC50, based on cell numbers, after 72 hours and 8 days was not affected in the range of the water solubility, the highest concentration tested being 3.3 mg/L.

The results are supported by results summarized in review articles for phthalates with alkyl chain length of C6 and above.
