Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
OECD Guideline 102 (Melting point / Melting Range)
Deviations:
not specified
GLP compliance:
no
Type of method:
capillary method
Remarks:
The melting range was determined according to “Capillary tube in a liquid bath” in OECD 102 - “Melting Point / Melting Range”.
Key result
Melting / freezing pt.:
>= 65.8 - <= 69.9 °C
Atm. press.:
1 013 Pa
Decomposition:
no
Sublimation:
no
Remarks on result:
not determinable because of methodological limitations

The test phenomena and results
The sample was a fine powdery solid, so it did not need to be ground into powder.
The approximate melting point of the sample was determined to be about 66℃~71℃, so
the start temperature was set to 48℃.
Results of the melting range are shown in Table 5.
Table 5 Results of the melting range
                                1                            2                          Mean
beginning
temperatures [
oC]
                              66.1                         65.4                      65.8

                              70.5                         69.3                      69.9

Conclusions:
Based on the test results, the melting range could be confirmed: 65.8℃~69.9℃.
