Description of key information

The toxicity of 400160 to microorganisms was determined by performing an activated sludge respiration inhibition test according to OECD guideline 209 and EU method C.11 in a  GLP certified testing facility.
The following results were determined:
3h NOEC = 1000 mg/L
3h EC50 > 1000 mg/L
3h EC20 > 1000 mg/L

Additional information

The study has been performed according to OECD guideline 209 and EU method C.11 in a GLP certified testing facility.

400160 was tested using seven concentrations ranging from 1 to 1000 mg/L. Duration of the test was 3 h. Activated sludge was used as inoculum. It was taken from a domestic sewage treatment plant and washed before usage. The dry matter was determined as 2.92 g suspended solids/L, giving a concentration of 1.46 g suspended solids/L in the test.

In the study no toxic effect could be observed. The oxygen uptake rate at a concentration of 1000 mg/L was similar as in the control.

3.5-Dichlorophenole was used as positive control. Four concentrations were tested. An EC50 of 8.0 mg/L was determined which was within the demanded range of 2 – 25 mg/L.

The following results for the test item 400160 were determined:
