Additional information

The test substance is not inherently biodegradable (0% biodegradation after 28 days) and not readily biodegradable (-26% biodegradation after 28 days exposure time) . Care should be taken in the interpretation of the result (ready biodegradability), due to the possible inhibitory nature of the test item to the sewage treatment micro-organisms used in the study.

The hydrolysis experiment demonstrate that FAT 40863/A TE is stable at pH 4, 7 and 9 at 25 °C. The estimated half-life of FAT 40863/A TE at 25°C is greater than one year.

The determination of the partition coefficient showed that the LogPow is -2.79 and therefore the substance is considered to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.

The adsorption/desorption test can be waived can be waived under REACH with the following justification.

In accordance with column of REACH annex VIII, the adsorption/desorption screening test does not be conducted as FAT 40863/A TE has a low octanol water partition coefficient (log Kow < -2.79).
