PRELIMINARY TGA
From 325°C upwards the weight of the sample decreased significantly. At 363°C, the sample weight had decreased by 25%. After the experiment, a black molten residue remained in the sample container and the sample container was slightly expanded. The change of the colour indicated reaction and/or decomposition of the test substance.
DSC SCREENING TEST
With all experiments, a small endothermic peak between 150°C and 275°C was observed.
With the first and second experiment, an exothermic decomposition effect starting at 275°C was observed. The extrapolated onset temperature of the effectin the first experiment was 287.45°C. With the second experiment an onset temperature 282.57°C was obtained. The exothermic decomposition energy was 526.2 J/g in the first experiment and 475.1 J/g in the second test. Since the difference in exothermic decomposition energy between both experiment was > 10% a third experiment was performed.The extrapolated onset temperature of the effect in the third experiment was 284.30°C and the exothermic decomposition energy was 457.7 J/g. The CV calculated with the exothermic decomposition energies of all three determinations was 7.3%. Hence, results were accepted and the mean exothermic decomposition energy was obtained from Experiment 1, 2 and 3.
After the experiments, a black molten residue remained at the bottom of the sample container. The sample container was slightly expanded. It indicated reaction and/or decomposition of the test substance during the test.

- From the results of a GLP-compliant study in accordance with UN Appendix 6 and EPA OPPTS 830.6316, the substance should be considered to present no danger of explosion. Exothermic decomposition of the substance of < 500 J/g (486 J/g was measured) was determined at a temperature of 285°C using DSC. The substance has no explosive properties.
