Administrative data
First-aid measures
First-aid responders should wear protective gloves and in case of spillages respiratory protection. Remove victims from danger zone. Remove contaminated clothing immediately.
If inhaled, move exposed to fresh air. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Ingestion: If swallowed, rinse mouth with water (only if the person is conscious). Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Skin contact: Wash with with polyethylene glycol, followed by plenty of water. Consult a medical doctor in case of skin irritation persists. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
Eye contact: Rinse with plenty of running water. Get medical attention if symptoms occur.
If swallowed:
Immediately rinse mouth with water, do not induce vomiting, seek medical attention.
Note to the physician:
Breathing difficulties may appear with several hours delay. Administer corticosteroid dose aerosol to prevent pulmonary oedema. Treat according to symptoms. No specific antidote known.
Fire-fighting measures
Special protective equipment : wear full protective clothing and self contained breathing apparatus
Accidental release measures
Neutralization: mix with a solution of 5-10 % sodium carbonate, 0.2-2 % detergent and 90-95 % of water. Stir the mixture gently several times a day. Reaction progresses over 5-7 days at temperatures not below 20 °C.

TWA value 0.02 mg/m³ (EH40(UK), measured as NCO.
STEL value 0.07 mg/m³ (EH40(UK)),, measured as NCO.
TWA value 0.035 mg/m³ (TRGS 900, Germany)
DNEL (worker, inhalation, chronic): 0.035 mg/m³ (sum of isomers)
CAS-No : 64742-82-1 Hydrocarbons
DNEL ( worker , worker , chronic ) : 330 mg/m³
Personal protective equipment:
respiratory protection: filter for organic gases with particle filter, at least A2P2 (EN 143 or 149)
hand protection:
Chemical resistant protective gloves (EN 374). Suitable materials also with prolonged, direct contact (recommended: protective index 6, corresponding > 480 minutes of permeation time according to EN 374):
nitrile rubber (NBR) - 0.4 mm coating thickness
butyl rubber (butyl) - 0.7 mm coating thickness
chloroprene rubber (CR) - 0.5 mm coating thickness.
Unsuitable materials:
polyvinylchloride (PVC) - 0.7 mm coating thickness
Eye protection:
Safety glasses with side-shields (frame goggles) (e.g. EN 166)
Body protection:
safety shoes (e.g. according to EN 20346)
General safety and hygiene measures:
Do not breath vapours/spray. With products freshly manufactured from isocyanates body protection and chemical resistant protective gloves is recommended. Wearing of closed work clothing is required and additionally to the stated personal protective equipment. Keep away from drink, food and animal feeding stuffs. No eating, drinking, smoking or tobacco use at the place of work. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing. Hands and face should be washed before breaks and at the end of shift. At the end of the shift the skin should be cleaned and skin-care agents applied.
Stability and reactivity
Stability : the product is stable
Hazardous reactions : At normal storage and use conditions no hazardous reactions will occur.
On contact with water, carbon dioxide is formed which causes build-up of pressure in tightly closed containers. Risk of bursting. May react violently with ammonia solution, primary and secondary amines, primary alcohols and hot water. Avoid ignition sources
Chemical Interactions : Product reacts with oxidizing substances
Disposal considerations
The product is used as an intermediate for the manufacturing of substances and therefor no waste will exist.
