Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A respiration inhibition test according to OECD Guideline 209 was performed with NPEO. The inhibition ranged from 5 to 29%. Due to the low inhibitions the EC20, EC50 and EC80 values of the test substance could not be calculated therefore the EC10 is expected to be > 100 mg/L.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
100 mg/L

Additional information

A test with NPEO was performed under static conditions at nominal concentrations 10, 32, 100, 320 and 1,000 mg/L. The respiration rates of control, reference and test substance concentrations were measured after a contact time of three h, and the inhibitory effects of the test and reference item were determined in comparison to the control respiration rates. The inhibition ranged from 5 % to 29 %. Due to the low inhibitions the EC20, EC50 and EC80 values of the test substance could not be calculated therefore the EC10 is expected to be > 100 mg/L (Fiebig S, 2010).
