Description of key information

Preliminary solubility estimated based on column elution method < 1 µg/L at pH: 7.0 - 7.1, 20°C. Calculated solubility (software WSKOWIN®, v.1.4) 8.6 x 10E05 mg/L at 25°C. The results are based on the main component (oligomer n=2).

Additional information

The preliminary experiment on water solubility of Poly-1,4-Diisopropylbenzene was below the detection limit of the column elution method used. Thus, no experimental main test was performed and the water solubility was estimated by a Atom/Fragment Contribution Method using the software WSKOWIN® version v1.4 (Syracuse Research Corporation, New York, USA).

The software WSKOWIN® calculated a water solubility of the main component (dimer) of 8.6 x 10E-05 mg/L at 25°C. This is in good agreement with the preliminary estimate on water solubility of < 1 µg/L based on the column elution method at 20°C, pH 7.1. The test item is considered to be not water soluble.
