Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove from contaminated area as soon as possible. Transport

him/her lying down, with the head higher than the body, to

a well-ventilated location. Consult with a physician in all

cases.

Emergency measure - Eyes: Flush eyes immediately with running water for at least 15

minutes, while keeping the eyelids wide open. In case of

difficulty of opening the lids, administer an analgesic eye

wash (oxybuprocaine). Consult with an opthalmologist

immediately in all cases.

Emergency measure - Skin: Remove contaminated shoes and clothing. Wash affected areas

with running water. Keep warm (blanket), provide clean

clothing. Consult with a physician in all cases.

Emergency measure - Ingestion: Seek immediate medical attention.

Fire-fighting measures

Recommended extinguishing agent: Water, water spray, foam, carbon dioxide or dry chemical may

be used.

Product arising from burning: Products of combustion will contain oxides of carbon, plus,

to a lesser extent, phosphorus and sulphur. Oxygen may be

released, further supporting combustion.

Product determined by test: N

Protective equipment: Full personal protective equipment and a self-contained

breathing apparatus should be worn.

Accidental release measures

Emergency measures in case of spillage: Isolate the area. Approach from upwind. Keep the substance

away from incompatible materials. Try to stop the leak. In

case of contact with combustible materials, avoid product

drying out by dilution with water. Inform local

authorities,if necessary.

If possible, dam large quantities of liquid with sand or

earth. Dilute with large quantities of water. Avoid release

to drain and water courses.

Dispose of in accordance with local regulations (refer to

safety data sheet).

Handling and storage

Handling: It is essential that prior to handling the substance,

workers familiarise themselves with protective clothing

requirements, location and working of safety equipment, and

first aid / emergency procedures.

Eye and hand protection are always recommended. Chemical

resistant butyl rubber gloves (to European Standard EN374 or

equivalent) should be worn as well as chemical goggles or

face shield (to Standard EN166 or equivalent). Impervious

chemical resistant clothing and boots are recommended.

When occupational inhalation exposure standards cannot be

met by ventilation or engineering design, then respiratory

protection, conforming to national / international

standards, will be required. A face mask with type B

cartridges (to European standard EN405 or equivalent) is

normally adequate but for more serious cases such as large

emissions, where the mask and cartridge do not provide

adequate protection, then self contained breathing

apparatus(to European standard EN136 or equivalent) is

recommended.

Storage: The substance should be stored in a well-ventilated area,

away from heat and out of direct sunlight. Keep away from

incompatible substances. The storage area should be

placarded with appropriate identification and hazard warning

signs. A safety shower and eyebath should be provided in

case of accidental contact with the substance. A water hose

should be available for flushing away spillages and leaks to

a safe place.

Packaging of the substance and or preparation: 25 litre or 220 litre HDPE drums with vented lids.

1000 litre intermediate bulk container (IBC).

18 tonne stainless steel ISO containers.
