First-aid measures
Emergency measure - Inhalation: Remove to fresh air. Symptomatic treatment.
Emergency measure - Eyes: Wash out with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes
Emergency measure - Skin: wash affected area with soap and water.
Emergency measure - Ingestion: Drink copious amount of water. Symptomatic treatment.
Fire-fighting measures
Recommended extinguishing agent: foam, carbon dioxide, dry agent and water
Product arising from burning: The substance is combustible and will burn if involved in a
firre, evolving noxious fumes (e.q. carbon dioxide and
nitrogen oxides)

Protective equipment: Fight the fire from a safe distant or protected location.
Accidental release measures
Emergency measures in case of spillage: Evacuate personnel from the immediate vicinity.
Wear eye protection, impervious gloves and protective
clothing.
Avoid dust formation by damping down with water. Absorp
spillages of solutions with a suitable inert material (e.q.
sand or soil). Carefully transfer the spillage to waste
containers, or use an approved sealed industrial vacuum
machine. Containers filled with waste material must be
labelled in the same way as the original TSD-4 containers.
Clean the spillage area with detergent and water.
Dispose of waste material in accordance with local
regulations by incineration or landfill, as specified in
section A6.1.3.
Handling and storage
Handling: he substance should be stored, handled and used under
conditions of good industrial hygiene and conformity with
any local regulations in order to avoid exposure by
ingestion, inhalation, skin and eye contact.
Engineering controls are necessary to reduce exposure to the
substance.
When exposure cannot be prevented or adequately controlled
other than by the use of personal protective equipment, eye
protection (e.q. goggles), impervious gloves and protective
clothing should be worn.
Furthermore, when respiratory protective equipment has to be
used, it must be capable of adequately controlling exposure,
be suitable for the purpose, and conform the appropiate
international standards. A dusk mask and filter conforming
to EN149FFP1 is recommended.
Storage: Store At 4 °C, protected from light.

Disposal considerations
Industry - Possibility of recovery/recycling: The substance will be used by industry and skilled traders,
and confined to systems that are essentially open and
batchwise industrial operations. Handling of the substance
will be by trained operators, and it will be kept to a
minimum.
Discharge to the environment will be minimal. recovery from
minor spillages or accidental discharge is not economically
or technically feasible, and such waste material will be
disposed of by incineration or landfill in accordance with
section A6.1.3. In principle, it may be possible to recover
larger spillages of uncontaminated material for subsequent
use.
Industry - Possibility of neutralisation: The base set tests have not identified any hazardous health
properties of TSD-4. Therefore, no chemical treatment is
necessary. Howerever, adequate protection will be worn
during normal handling and when dealing with spillages to
ensure that any unidentified health hazard is minimised (see
section A2.3.1).
The dust hazard will be minimised by damping down with
water.
Industry - Possibility of destruction: controlled discharge: Contaminated containers or spillages of soltions mixed with
inert material (eg. san or soil) may be disposed of by
landfill at an authorised tip in accordance with local
regulations.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - incineration: The substance can be disposed of by incineration by burning
under controlled conditions at licensed waste treatment
processor in accordance with local regulations. Stack gases
should be scrubbed, because noxious fumes (eg. carbon and
nitrogen oxides) could be formed.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - water purification: The substance should not normally be discharged to the
sewage system or aqueous environment. The substance is not
likely to have adverse effects on sewage treatment systems
following accidental discharge, however, because it has been
shown not to be unduly toxic to sewage micro-organisms.
Industry - Possibility of destruction - other: Not applicable
Public at large - Possibility of recovery/recycling: Not applicable
