Description of key information
Physico-chemical properties of the registered substance were determined from experimental testing, except Vapour Pressure, Octanol-Water Partition Coefficient and Water Solubility that were calculated from QSAR and/or evaluated by Literature data (peer-reviewed), based on the majors constituents of the test substance. Some endpoints were waived, based on the chemical structure of the known constituents of the substance or based on the experience in handling, use and testing of the substance.
The substance is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at ambient temperature et pressure. The substance contains constituents having different water solubilities, volatilities and octanol-water partition coefficient. It is less dense of water and not intended to be used as surfactant.
The substance is classified as Flammable Liquid, Category 3, based on both Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation) and GHS.No other hazard was identified with regard to physical properties (flammability, explosivity, oxidising properties) based on Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP regulation).
Additional information
Endpoint (method) | Data |
Appearance (visual observation) | The test item is a colourless to pale yellow liquid at ambient temperature and atmospheric pressure. |
Freezing Point (EFEO/EFFA Guideline - visual determination) | The freezing point of test item was determined to be lower than -20°C (253.15 K) at 101.3kPa. |
Boiling Point (OECD 103/ EU A2 - DSC Method) | The onset of boiling occurred in the range from 158.71 °C to 173.22 °C (431.86 K to 446.37 K) at 998.2 mBar. The absolute peak maximum was observed at 185.55°C |
Relative density (D20/20) (OECD 109 / EU A3 - Oscillating Densitimeter) | The relative density of the test substance was 0.917 at 20.0 °C. |
Granulometry (data Waiving) | Study scientifically not necessary: Waived for liquids. |
Vapour pressure (Literature) | The vapour pressure of the test item based, on partial pressure of major contituents, is estimated to be in the range between 5.64 and 212 Pa: 227 Pa at 24-25°C (Literature) |
Log Kow (Literature + QSAR method) | The partition coefficients (LogKow) of the test item, based on the three major known constituent, is estimated to be in the range between 2.98 and 4.57 (calculated + Literature) |
Water solubility (Literature + QSAR Method) | The Water Solubility of the test item, based on the three known majour constituents, is estimated to be in the range 3.153 - 3500 mg/L at 25°C. |
Surface tension (data Waiving) | Waived as the substance is not intended to be used as surfactant (i.e. not a desired property) |
Auto-ignition temperature (EU A15, DIN 51794 / DIN 14522) | The auto-ignitition temperature of the test substance was determined to be 290°C at a pressure of ca 1001.2 mBar |
Flash-point (ISO 2719-B - non-equilibrium / closed cup) | Flash point of test substance was 57.5°C at 101.3 kPa. Flammable Liquid, category 3. |
Flammable on Ignition (data Waiving) | Study technically not feasible: Waived for liquids. Please refer to Flash Point for liquid. |
Flammability air (data Waiving) | Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on experience in handling and use and chemical structure of the major constituents of the substance. NOT flammable if contact with air. |
Flammabily water (data Waiving) | Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on experience in handling and use and on chemical structure of the major constituents of the substance. NOT flammable if contact with water. |
Self-heating substances (data Waiving) | Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on chemical structure of the major contituents of the substance and because the substance is a liquid. The surface of liquids is not large enough for reaction with air. Liquids, unless adsorbed, are not classified as self-heating. NOT self-heating substance. |
Explosive properties (data Waiving) | Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on chemical structure of the major constituents of the substance. NO potential for explosive properties. |
Oxidising properties (data Waiving) | Study scientifically not necessary: Waived based on chemical structure of the major constituents of the substance. NO potential for oxidizing properties. |
