Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
boiling point
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Study period:
2016
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
guideline study
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Different quantities viz., 3.074, 3.158 and 3.566 mg test item for replication I, II and III were weighed in a separate tarred sample pan using a balance. The balance was allowed to stand to stabilize. After the balance stabilization, the weight (mg) of the test item was recorded. The sample pan was sealed and placed in the instrument (DSC) and the weight (mg) of the test item was entered into the instrument (DSC) for the respective replications. The heating was started from 30 °C to 430 °C at a rate of 10 °C/min in presence of nitrogen. The onset temperature (°C), peak temperature (°C), peak area (mJ) and the ΔH (enthalpy) J/g were calculated using the software. The experiment was carried out in three replications.
GLP compliance:
yes (incl. QA statement)
Type of method:
differential scanning calorimetry
Boiling pt.:
> 430 °C
Atm. press.:
760 mm Hg
Decomposition:
no

The test item when heated from 30 °C to 430 °C @ 10 °C/minute in presence of nitrogen in three replications had one endothermic peak, the mean onset temperature (°C), mean peak temperature (°C), mean peak area (mJ) and the mean ΔH (enthalpy) J/g recorded is provided below:

Mean Onset Temperature (°C): 170.616

Mean Peak Temperature (°C): 174.798

Mean Peak Area (mJ): 38.446

Mean ΔH (Enthalpy) J/g: 11.811

No other phase change was registered up to 430 °C.

Conclusions:
Boling point of the substance is over 430°C at 760 mm Hg.
