Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Inherently biodegradability (OECD 302C) = non biodegradable under the test conditions over 28 days of exposure.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
under test conditions no biodegradation observed

Additional information

The objectives of the GLP study conducted according to OECD Guideline 302 C (Inherent Biodegradability: Modified MITI Test (II)) are to follow the biodegradability of the test substance in a 28 days biodegradation test by following the BOD (biochemical oxygen demand) of the test substance in the incubation flasks by means of manometric methods.

This study is recognized by the OECD Guidelines and should provide a rationale basis to assess the inherent biodegradability properties of the test article when incubated with acitivated sludge, to simulate an exposure to natural waters.

The test substance was found to be non-degradable under the test conditions over 28 days of exposure.

The standard compound, aniline, was readily degraded after 7 days, thus confirming suitability of the test conditions and inocolum.
