Sulfide:

As sulfides do not have a potential for bioconcentration/bioaccumulation, secondary poisoning is not relevant. However, data available for pigs (Cromwell, 1979) support this lack of potential for secondary poisoning. In this study, the addition of sulfide to the diet (nominal 450 ppm Na2S) did not affect rate or efficiency of weight gains and food efficiency as well as haemoglobin and hematocrit values.

Barium:

Reliable and relevant studies (Dietz, 1992 and NTP, 1994) for repeated-dose toxicity to small mammals (rats and mice) via the oral route are available for expsoures lasting up to 2 years. The lowest NOAEL (1124 mg/L Ba; 61.1 mg Ba/kg bw/day) was observed in a study with male rats (Fischer 344) exposed via drinking water to Barium dichloride dehydrate for 92-days (Dietz, 1992).
