The experiment termination date was 17 February 2011 so does not need to be performed under GLP or ISO 17025.

Three reliable measured flash point data are available for the submission substance. Measured flash point values of 25.5°C and 26°C at 1013 hPa were determined for the substance using an Abel closed-cup method in accordance with ISO 13736 Test Method. The results are considered to be reliable and are selected as weight of evidence.

The value is supported by another reliable flash point value of 23°C at 1013 hPa that was obtained for the substance using ASTM D3828-87.

In several secondary sources to which reliability could not be assigned, flash point values of 22°C, 24°C, 24.5°C, 26°C, 27.7°C and 28°C at 1013 hPa were reported for the substance.

Variations in the flash point values may be caused by variations in purity of the test substance and in the test method used. The key study is selected as the study most recently conducted and, therefore, relevant for current commercial products.

Flash point of 25.5 - 26°C at 1013 hPa and a measured boiling point of 123°C, indicate that the substance should be classified as a flammable liquid (Category 3) according to the criteria of Regulation (EC) No. 1272/2008.
