Administrative data
First-aid measures
General information:
Take off all contaminated clothing immediately.
Inhalation:
In case product dust is released: Possible discomfort: severe irritation of mucous lining (nose, throat, eyes), cough, sneezing, flow of tears Move victims into fresh air. If breathing difficulties occur: Keep patient half sitting with upper body raised. Call a physician immediately.
Skin Contact:
Wash off immediately with plenty of water. Consult a physician.
Eye contact:
With eye held open, thoroughly rinse immediately with plenty of water for at least 10 minutes. Continue rinsing process with eye rinsing solution. Protect unharmed eye. Call ambulance. (Cue: caustic burn of the eyes) Immediate further treatment in ophthalmic hospital/ ophthalmologist. Continue rinsing eye until arrival at ophthalmic hospital.
Ingestion:
Do NOT induce vomiting. Only when patient fully conscious: Have the mouth rinsed with water. Have patient drink plenty of water in small sips. Notify ambulance immediately (keyword: chemical burn).
Personal Protection for First-aid Responders:
In case of fire: full protective suit and wear a self contained respiratory apparatus
Most important symptoms/effects, acute and delayed
Symptoms:
No data available.
Hazards:
No data available.
Indication of immediate medical attention and special treatment needed
Treatment:
Therapy as for chemical burn. If substance has been swallowed: Early endoscopy in order to assess mucosa lesions in the oesophagus and stomach which may appear. If necessary, suck away leftover substance.
Fire-fighting measures
Suitable (and unsuitable) extinguishing media
Suitable extinguishing media:
Water spray, foam, CO2, dry powder.
Unsuitable extinguishing media:
high volume water jet
Specific hazards arising from the chemical:
Hazard-determining flue gases might develop in case of fire: Hydrocarbons.
Special protective equipment and precautions for firefighters
Special fire fighting procedures:
Water for fire fighting must not be introduced in the sewer system, subsoil, or surface waters. Assure that there are sufficient fire water retaining facilities Contaminated fire fighting water must be disposed of in conformity with the regulations of the local authorities. Fire residues should be disposed of in accordance with the regulations.
Special protective equipment for fire-fighters:
In case of fire: full protective suit and wear a self contained respiratory apparatus
Accidental release measures
Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures:
Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking.
Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:
Use mechanical handling equipment.
Environmental Precautions:
Prevent product from entering drains. Do not allow to reach the sewage system, the ground or natural water bodies.
Handling and storage
Precautions for safe handling:
Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice. The personal protective equipment used must meet the requirements of Regulation (EU) 2016/425 and amendments (CE certification). Avoid residues of the product on the containers.
Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities:
In order to ensure due transportation, make certain that stacks are of the correct height, containers are securely fastened so as not to fall off, and labelled according to the regulations. Store in the original receptacle, keeping this tightly sealed, under cool and dry conditions. If dusts develop, explosive dust/air mixtures may form.
