First-aid measures

General information

Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.

When in doubt or if symptoms are observed, get medical advice.

Self-protection of the first aider: Avoid contact with the product.

After inhalation

Provide fresh air. If breathing is difficult, give oxygen. Call a physician immediately.

After contact with skin

Wash imediately with soap and with plenty of water. Take off immediately all contaminated clothing.

If skin irritation occurs: Get medical advice/attention.

After contact with eyes

Rinse immediately carefully and thoroughly with eye-bath or water. Remove contact lenses, if present and easy to do. Continue rinsing.

Immediately consult an ophthalmologist. Risk of blindness!

After ingestion

Rinse mouth immediately. Do NOT induce vomiting.

Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person or a person with cramps.

Call a physician immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: Water spray, foam, Carbon dioxide (CO2), Dry extinguishing powder

Unsuitable media: Water  jet

Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture

Flammable liquid. Vapours are heavier than air, spread along floors and may form explosive mixtures with air. Due to danger of explosion, prevent leakage of vapours into cellars, flues and ditches. Emission of irritating and toxic fumes and gases.

Hazardous combustion products: Nitrogen oxides (NOx) Carbon oxides, ammonia

Advice for firefighters

in the dangerous zone wear self contained breathing apparatus and suitable chemical resistant protective clothing.

Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately.

Use water spray jet to protect personnel and to cool endangered containers. Suppress gases/vapours/mists with water spray jet. Collect contaminated fire extinguishing water separately. Do not allow entering drains or surface water.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions, protective equipment and emergency procedures: Provide adequate ventilation. Use personal protection equipment.

Remove all sources of ignition. Take precautionary measures against static discharges.

Do not breathe vapour/aerosol. Vapours can accumulate in low areas. Avoid contact with the product.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.

Methods and material for containment and cleaning up:

Absorb with liquid-binding material (e.g. sand, diatomaceous earth, acid- or universal binding agents). For large amounts: Dike spillage and pump off into suitable containers.. Collect in well closed, suitable containers for disposal. Clean up affected area.

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling: Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice: Do not eat, drink, and smoke. Wash hands before break and after work. Avoid contact with the product. Do not breathe vapour/aerosol.

Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system.

Advice on protection against fire and explosion: Flammable liquid. Keep away from sources of ignition - No smoking. Take action to prevent static discharges.

Requirements for storage rooms and vessels

Keep in a cool, well-ventilated place. Store dry. Containers which are opened must be carefully resealed and kept upright to prevent leakage.

Advice on storage compatibility: Store separated from strong oxidising agents.

For storage in a common place refer to the respective regulations.

Keep container tightly closed.

Exposure controls / personal protection

Appropriate engineering controls: Provide sufficient ventilation and/or local exhaust system.

Protective and hygiene measures

Handle in accordance with good industrial hygiene and safety practice: Do not eat, drink, and smoke. Wash hands before break and after work.

Take off contaminated clothing.

Eye/face protection: Wear tightly fitting safety goggles.

Hand protection: Wear suitable gloves. The quality of the protective gloves resistant to chemicals must be chosen as a function of the specific working place concentration and quantity of hazardous substances. For special purposes, it is recommended to check the resistance to chemicals of the protective gloves mentioned above together with the supplier of these

Recommended glove material:

Fluorinated rubber

Minimal thickness of the glove material for penetration time 8 h:  0,7 mm

Skin protection: Wear suitable protective clothing. Choose suitable personal protection equipment dependent on substance concentration and amount specific for workplace. Chemical resistance should be clarified with the supplier.

Body Protection

Complete suit protecting against chemicals, Flame retardant antistatic protective clothing., The type of protective equipment must be selected according to the concentration and amount of the dangerous substance at the specific workplace.

Respiratory protection: In case of inadequate ventilation wear respiratory protection.

At exposure to vapour, mist wear respiratory equipment. Recommended Filter: ABEK. Where risk assessment shows air-purifying respirators are appropriate use a full-face respirator with multi-purpose combination (particle filter in addition to ABEK-filter).

Maintenance, testing and change of the filter cartridges must be performed following the recommendations of the supplier.

Environmental exposure controls

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains. Do not allow to enter into soil/subsoil.

Stability and reactivity

Reactivity: Flammable liquid

Chemical stability: The substance is chemically stable under recommended conditions of storage, use and temperature

Possibility of hazardous reactions: Violent reaction with: Acid, oxidising agents. Vapours may form explosive mixtures with air.

Incompatible materials: Acids, oxidizing agents

Hazardous decomposition products

Hazardous decomposition products formed under fire conditions: Carbon oxides, Nitrogen oxides (NOx), ammonia

Disposal considerations

Burn in a chemical incinerator equipped with an afterburner and scrubber but exert extra care in igniting as this material is highly flammable. Chemicals and packages as waste must be disposed of in accordance with Directive 2008/98/EC and the respective national and local regulations. Consult your local or regional authorities. Send to a hazardous waste incinerator facility under observation of official regulations.

Handle contaminated packages in the same way as the substance itself. Non-contaminated packages may be recycled.

Do not allow to enter into surface water or drains.
