Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: sediment simulation testing
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of sediment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex IX, sediment simulation testing, information requirement 9.2.1.4 does not need to be conducted as direct and indirect exposure to sediment is unlikely. The test substance entering the water is not likely to sorb onto suspended solids and sediment based upon the measured log Pow (CSR section 1.3 Physico-Chemical Properties), mitigating exposure to sediment.
Transformation products:
not measured
Endpoint:
biodegradation in water: simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:

Justification for type of information:
Degradation testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. The chemical safety assessment conducted on this substance and attached to section 13 of the dossier indicates no concern at current and anticipated supply volumes. As such it is considered that there is no need to undertake simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water, as listed in section 9.2.1.2 of column 1 of REACH Annex IX.

Description of key information

Simulation tests for biodegradation in water and sediment are waived.

Additional information

Simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water

Degradation testing shall be proposed by the registrant if the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates the need to investigate further the degradation of the substance and its degradation products. The chemical safety assessment conducted on this substance and attached to section 13 of the dossier indicates no concern at current and anticipated supply volumes. As such it is considered that there is no need to undertake simulation testing on ultimate degradation in surface water, as listed in section 9.2.1.2 of column 1 of REACH Annex IX.

Sediment simulation testing

In accordance with Column 2 adaptation statement of REACH Annex IX, sediment simulation testing, information requirement 9.2.1.4 does not need to be conducted as direct and indirect exposure to sediment is unlikely. The test substance entering the water is not likely to sorb onto suspended solids and sediment based upon the measured log Pow (CSR section 1.3 Physico-Chemical Properties), mitigating exposure to sediment.
