Results and discussion
Relative self-ignition temperature (solids)
- Key result
- Relative self-ignition temperature:
- 233 °C
Any other information on results incl. tables
In the preliminary test no flame was recongised, but a glowing red reaction propagated over 200 mm in 15 minutes 28 seconds.
The result of the preliminary screening test obviated the need to perform the main test.
The test item was a blue powder. Whilst heating the test item, self-heating of the sample was observed. The temperature/time curve is shown as Figure 1. On completion of the test, the test item was fused grey granules.
Applicant's summary and conclusion
- Conclusions:
- The test item has been determined to have a relative self-ignition temperature of 233 °C.
