Description of key information

The dynamic viscosity of the substance ‘Naphtha (petroleum), steam-cracked, C8-10 aromatic hydrocarbon fraction, alkylated and oligomerised’ (NAF-AO) (see Chapter 1) was determined for three different specifications/technical products of the substance. Average values ranged from 77 to 7945 hPa s at 25 °C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
1 000 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

Due to the UVCB nature of the substance NAF-AO, there are different specifications / products with a typical range of viscosities. For the technical products Novares L 100, Novares L 800, and Novares TL 10, different typical values of dynamic viscosities (average values) were determined using materials from six or seven batches, respectively. Values for dynamic viscosity (mean and range) of the three products were 77 hPa s (53 - 93 hPa s), 917 hPa s (800 - 1000 hPa s), and 7944 hPa s (6200 - 9385 hPa s).
