Registration Dossier

Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

First-aid measures

Eye Contact: Flush with water while holding eyelids open for at least 15 minutes.  Seek medical attention immediately.

Skin Contact: Remove contaminated clothing.  Flush area with large amounts of water.  Use soap.  Seek medical attention.

Ingestion: Never give anything by mouth to an unconscious person.  Wash out mouth with water.  Do not induce vomiting unless directed by medical personnel.  Seek medical attention immediately.

Inhalation: Remove to fresh air and keep patient at rest.  Seek medical attention immediately.

Fire-fighting measures

- Suitable extinguishing media:

Extinguish fires with CO2, extinguishing powder, foam, or water.

- Special hazards arising from the substance or mixture: Fine particles (such as dust and mists) may fuel fires/explosions.

Hazardous Combustion Products: formation of toxic gases is possible during heating or fire.

- Advice for fire fighter: During all fire fighting activities, wear appropriate protective equipment, including self-contained breathing apparatus.

Accidental release measures

- Personal precautions:

Minimize exposure. Non-essential personnel should be evacuated from affected area.  Report emergency situations immediately.  Clean up operations should only be undertaken by trained personnel.

- Protective equipment and emergency procedures:

Personnel involved in clean-up should wear appropriate personal protective equipment..

- Environmental precautions:

Place waste in an appropriately labeled, sealed container for disposal.  Care should be taken to avoid environmental release.

- Methods and material for containment and cleaning up: Contain the source of the spill if it is safe to do so. Collect spilled material by a method that

controls dust generation. Avoid use of a filtered vacuum to clean spills of dry solids. Clean spill area thoroughly.

Handling and storage

- Precautions for safe handling:

Ground and bond all bulk transfer equipment. Restricting the use of high resistivity materials, such as plastics, should be considered. Avoid open handling. Minimize dust generation. Use local exhaust ventilation or perform work under fume hood/fume cupboard.  If engineering controls are not available, a hierarchy of controls should be utilized, including PPE and administrative controls.  Avoid inhalation and contact with skin, eye, and clothing. When handling, use appropriate personal protective equipment. Releases to the environment should be avoided.  Review and implement appropriate technical and procedural waste water and waste disposal measures to prevent occupational exposure or environmental releases.  Potential points of process emissions of this material to the atmosphere should be controlled with dust collectors, HEPA filtration systems or other equivalent controls.

All tools, exposed equipment or work area surfaces must be decontaminated after use, to avoid spread of contamination.   Secondary containment is required during transporation of the compound.  Minimize traffic through designated work areas.

- Conditions for safe storage, including any incompatibilities: Store at room temperature in properly labeled containers.  Keep away from heat, sparks and flames.

Incompatible Materials:Unknown. As a precautionary measure, keep away from strong oxidizers

Exposure controls / personal protection

1. Technical protection measures: Engineering controls should be used as a primary means of containment.  Perform operations

in a ventilated enclosure. Due to the unknown hazards of this material, it is recommended that no recirculation of air be permitted in work areas and that air flow in work areas be negative to the surrounding areas.

2. Organisational protection measures: Owing to the absence of health hazard characterization data, this material should be handled according to procedures designed to provide protection from known or unknown hazards.

3. Hand protection: Wear impervious gloves if skin contact is possible.

4. Body protection: Use protective clothing (uniforms, lab coats, disposable coveralls, etc.) in both production and laboratory areas.

5. Eye protection: Wear safety glasses as minimum protection.

7. Respiratory protection: Respiratory protection should be provided in instances where exposure to dust, mists, aerosols or vapors are likely.

Stability and reactivity

1. Reactivity

: No data available

2. Chemical stability

: Stable under normal conditions of use

3. Conditions to avoid

: Unknown.  Fine particles (such as dust and mists) may fuel fires/explosions. As a precautionary measure, keep away from heat sources and electrostatic discharge.

4. Incompatible materials: Unknown As a precautionary measure, keep away from strong oxidizers

5. Hazardous decomposition products: No data available

Disposal considerations

Waste Treatment Methods:

Dispose of waste in accordance with all applicable laws and regulations.  Member State specific and Community specific provisions must be considered.  Considering the relevant known environmental and human health hazards of the material, review and implement appropriate technical and procedural waste water and waste disposal measures to prevent occupational exposure and environmental release.  It is recommended that waste minimization be practiced.  The best available technology should  be utilized to prevent environmental releases. This may include destructive techniques for waste and wastewater.
