Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Diss Factsheets

Administrative data

Endpoint:
flammable solids
Data waiving:
study technically not feasible
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is a liquid
Justification for type of information:
The substance is considered likely to be solid, but it is not possible to remove from water without chemical changes
The substance is inorganic and will not support combustion
Cross-reference
Reason / purpose for cross-reference:
data waiving: supporting information
Reference
Endpoint:
appearance / physical state / colour
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Qualifier:
no guideline followed
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Direct observation of the material
Attempts were made to remove water.
GLP compliance:
no
Specific details on test material used for the study:
Production material was taken and attempts made to remove water.
Analysis demonstrated ca 36 - 37% actives in water
Physical state at 20°C and 1013 hPa:
liquid
Remarks:
As supplied
Key result
Form:
liquid
Colour:
Green
Substance type:
inorganic

Attempts were made to remove water by heating, but colour change indicated a potential change in oxidation state. The registered substance is of mixed valancy.

Even if managing to obtain dry material, it is very hygroscopic and not possible to handle without absorbance of water.

Conclusions:
Not possible to remove from water without apparent degradation / oxidation
