As program EN ISO 2719-A showed no reproducible values a test with program EN ISO 2719-B was performed

Four determinations in the main study were performed, no reproducible values were determined. This is attributed to the test item’s properties: the test item consists of a mixture. Possibly, vaporisation of the single components is poorly reproducible, and therefore, different values for the flash point are measured. For safety reasons, the lowest measured value (237.5 °C = 510.7 K) is stated as the flash point of the test item.

Executive summary:

The flash point of the test item 'Oligomerisation product obtained by plasma treatment of vegetable oil mono- and polyunsaturated C16 -C22 triglycerides" was determined experimentally via a closed cup method using a Pensky-Martens apparatus in accordance with EU guidance A.9 and under GLP conditions.

Subsequent determinations of the flash point resulted in values that were differing more than 2K.

Therefore, for safety reasons the lowest measured value at which ignition was observed is stated as the flash point of the test item: 237.5 °C.

The oligomerisation product obtained by plasma treatment of vegetable oil mono- and polyunsaturated C16-C22 triglycerides is a liquid having a flash point of 237.5°C. Therefore, it is not considered a flammable liquid in accordance with the criteria described in CLP section 2.6.
